Idea

Make Us Survive

Short Overview

There are lots of dangerous diseases in the world, for which natural cures exist but only a few people have the knowledge of them. The idea is to share knowledge of those cures and make the information available for everyone and allow people to ask for guidance.

Description

* Have you ever heared about the Dengue (Dingi) mosquito?

* Dengue is the most common mosquito-borne viral disease of humans that in recent years has become a major international public health concern. Globally, 2.5 billion people live in areas where dengue viruses can be transmitted.

* During the 19th century, dengue was considered a sporadic disease that caused epidemics at long intervals, a reflection of the slow pace of transport and limited travel at that time. Today, dengue ranks as the most important mosquito-borne viral disease in the world. For instance, Philippines is one of the top countries that face this mosquito virus.

* Thousands of people die without having the opportunities to go under proper medication and treatment. This is because, no particular medicine or vaccine is developed for this kind of disease. However, there are people living in the mountain and in the heart of the forest, who are aware of a special kind of plant or natural medicine and whose experience is so much important for other people. They can share the medicine to other people, but they hardly find a way to do that.

* Not only in the Philippines, but also in other countries of world, the same disease can occure. In the picture below, you can see the countries that are in high risk of this disease.

* The application is not only designed for this kind of mosquito, but also for any diseases that can be found in the application. For instance, people who have been experiencing Snake bites can also visit the website and if no information is available about Snakes, then the person can easily make a new category of Snake and share his idea and feedback into it.

* To solve this problem, Make Us Survive Application is a big help to other people. Different users from different countries can easily visit the web application and select the country, then all the information based on the selected country is shown. Lets say, I was bitten by the same Snake, and I would like to know what is there as a cure or other people comments to the Snake Virus. I visit the website, and look for the Snake under the disease list, I click on it, and then If I want to view the comments from the country I am in, then I can choose the country from the drop down menu and the system shows me all the comments written by people from the selected country. By this I will have the chance to see all the comments and the cures from that country.

* This application gives the apportunities to Authorized (DR)people to validate the information posted by different people in a specific country. This is done, while the Doctor is given the privilage to review the comments and update them. if a comment is not valid, DR can delete it from the list.

* This web application helps solve dangerous diseases in the whole world, by making communication easier between patients and people who have the cure and who live in rural areas and who will give the feedback and recommend natural medicines. This web based application, provides those people who have experienced the disease to share their experiences before and after curing to the world. One of the very essential information they can share is the medicine they have been taken to fight with the disease. This critical information can help thousands of people who are suffering from the disease to survive.

  • Users can also upload the pictures from the disease.
  • This application provides it easier for the people to send comments about a particular disease via SMS. Pictures can also be sent to the application via MMS. This feature provides it easier for those people living in the rural areas to share their information, comments and the cures they recommend to a specific disease.

* Connecting the application to some social networking sites can definitly introduce the software and attract more users who can provide information to the our software system.

Visit the website and share the information you have got about a particular disaese so people can get their life back again…

Group Impression

With all the difficulties we were facing during the implementation, specially with Silverlight Technology, team discovers this course and the project so challenging and interesting. Team planned to get more familiarities to .NET as well as Silverlight Technology and its uses. Team focused was on adding more valuable knowledge from this IDE and gain coding experience in one week time. This was a big impression to the team to increase the programing skills and knowledge and the team working skills. Team appreciate this course and the course founders to show a new world to them.

Working in a team that we don't know is another benefit to this course. The class environment was so warm with so many kind students who keep helping and guiding eachother. Our special thanks to Jari, Bishal, and Were, and all student of .Net Code Camp 2010.
